Car Park Competitors may use the main car park. Please obey the instructions of the car park attendant. Competitors must not park in front of the clubhouse entrance as this is strictly a drop-off/collection area. The Scottish Golf Union and Murcar Links cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.
Catering Coffee and morning rolls will be available from 6.15am. Bar snacks will be available all day. All catering is at competitors own expense.
Clubhouse The clubhouse will be open at 6.00am each day. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities.
Casual wear is acceptable but must be smart. THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SHORTS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, SHELL SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. THE WEARING OF GOLF SHOES IS PROHIBITED IN THE MAIN LOUNGE.
MOBILE PHONES ARE PROHIBITED IN THE VICINITY OF THE CLUBHOUSE AND COURSE.
No one under the age of 18 may consume or purchase alcoholic drinks.
Changing facilities are available in the Gents Locker Rooms. Coin operated lockers, showers and towels are available but towels must remain in the Changing Rooms.
Caddie Cars and Yardage Books The Professionals Shop has a supply of trolleys for hire on a first come first serve basis. Please note that trolley handles must be returned to the Professionals Shop immediately after play. Yardage books will be available for purchase from the Professionals Shop.
Course and Play Competitors will play one round on Friday 29 May and one round on Saturday 30 May. The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40th place will play two rounds on Sunday 31 May. The draw for Sunday will be made as soon as possible after close of play on Saturday.
THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SHORTS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, SHELL SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Shorts are permitted if tailored.
Competitors must report to the Championship Office at least 30 minutes prior to their starting time. Starting times are shown in the official draw sheet. Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering at the Championship Office.
COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that late arrival at the first tee will result in disqualification as no provision is made under Rule 6-3.
Insurance Your entry fee includes cover in respect of legal liability in the event of them causing injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess of £15 will apply.
Practice Murcar Links, has kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round on Thursday 28 May between 8.00am and 4.00pm. Competitors unable to practice in this period may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the Club. Additional practice rounds will be charged at a discounted green fee of £30 (normally £70). All bookings for practice times must be made in advance by telephoning Murcar Links on 01224 704370.
General Practice Conditions Competitors must report to the Professionals Shop prior to starting their practice round.
Competitors may play from the Championship Tees.
Other than in accordance with the Rules of Golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play - exception - if a player misses the green with his shot to the green he may play one additional shot.
Practice Facilities There is a practice ground that competitors may use by purchasing practice ball tokens from the Professional’s Shop at the cost of £2 per basket. The short game practice area maybe used but players must supply their own practice balls on this area i.e. the use of the Club’s practice balls is not permitted on the short game practice area. Competitors using the short game practice area are asked to repair divots with sand and seed provided in the plastic tubes. The practice ground will be open 45 minutes before the first tee off time on all three Championship days.
Presentation The Championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Sunday 31 May. All medal winners are expected to be present.
Rankings The Bidwells Scottish Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event and for Scottish players counts toward the SGU Order of Merit.
